At a meeting of  the residents forum the following motion was passed. “this forum wishes to extend to Sr. Noreen Long and all the Sisters Of Mercy and the extended family of the Parish our sympathy at this time on the death of Sr. Breda.

Her service in this parish endeared her to all without exception. She was a most extraordinary person. May she rest in peace.”

ANGELA COLLINS RIP

“DIRTY OLD TOWNS?” Monday Events Postponed

The start of the ‘DIRTY OLD TOWNS’ events to take place in the parish on Monday is postponed , new dates to follow as soon as we have them.

“DIRTY OLD TOWNS?” comes to our parish.

Diarmuid Gavin of the RTE show “DIRTY OLD TOWNS?” is on a journey – to clean up the towns of Ireland -not alone with money, not just with officialdom, but with the power of people and the language of ideas.

Diarmuid will kick off the Dirty Old Towns campaign for our parish this Sunday (13th November) at the end of the 12.00 noon Mass. Why not come along and listen to what he has to say.

CONGRATULATIONS TO BALLINACURRA WESTON RESIDENTS’ ALLIANCE

Well done to the Residents Alliance. Cathal McCarthy was in touch with me last night to tell me that they have scooped the overall award of Limerick City Council Environmental Community Challenge scooping the top prise of 5.000.00. Very well done to Matty Collins  Cathal McCarthy,  and all involved.

WESTVILLE FESTIVAL

The residents forum welcome  ’Westville’.

On Saturday September 24, an inaugural festival which is being called ‘Westville’ will be launched in Hyde Rangers grounds in Ballinacurra Weston. The event will be held between 2 – 4 pm and is open to all the community. There will be a variety of activities available including a barbecue, sports camps, face painting and many other events.

The festival is the brainchild of the youngest Irishman ever to climb Mount Everest, Mark Quinn and the aim is to bring large parts of the community together for a fun filled event.
